Choose a pricing model that fits your business
A busy box office, a seasonal program and a growing attraction do not sell the same way. Choose from three pricing structures, with the rate and scope defined in your proposal.
Flat fee
How it works
A quoted platform fee.
What to consider
Useful when predictable platform budgeting is a priority.
Per ticket
How it works
A transaction-based fee tied to ticket volume.
What to consider
Useful when you want platform charges to follow sales activity.
Hybrid
How it works
A combination of a fixed fee and transaction-based pricing.
What to consider
Useful when you want a balance of a fixed platform cost and volume-based charges.
What determines your price
We build your proposal around annual ticket volume, event complexity, the capabilities you need and how your organization operates. With three pricing structures to work with, we can recommend the approach that fits your priorities and make the costs clear.
Your exact rates, billing basis and applicable charges are set out in your proposal.
Know what is in your proposal
VBO connects ticketing, customer relationships and point of sale. Discuss the workflows you need, from reserved seating and subscriptions to reporting, patron communications and fundraising, and confirm the scope in your proposal.
No per-user licensing fees. No mandatory feature upgrades. No hidden module add-ons.
Before you decide, your proposal will make these costs and terms clear:
- Platform pricing: the model, rate, billing basis and capabilities included in your scope.
- Payment processing: any applicable processor or gateway charges, identified separately from VBO platform fees.
- Getting started: the scope of implementation, migration and training, plus any applicable charges.
- Other costs: any applicable hardware, third-party services or optional services, shown separately.
- Transaction rules: how complimentary tickets, refunds and exchanges affect fees, along with the billing cycle and relevant agreement terms.
Compare the full cost of ticketing
See how VBO compares with what you pay today. We’ll review your current provider or competing quote using the same sales volume, sales channels, payment mix and service scope, so you can see both the costs and the capabilities side by side.
We’ll help you review three distinct views:
- Total cost: platform fees, payment processing and other applicable costs across the same period.
- Your organization’s cost: what you pay after accounting for any fees collected from buyers to offset those costs.
- Your buyers’ cost: fees charged to buyers, whether itemized separately or included in the displayed ticket price.
Moving a charge from your organization to your buyers is a change in who pays, not a reduction in the total cost. Keeping those views separate makes the comparison useful.
Bring the numbers you already have
Start with your approximate annual ticket volume and the features your team relies on. If available, have a recent provider invoice, payment-processing statement or competing proposal ready for the conversation. We can identify what is known, what is missing and what needs a closer comparison.

Pricing questions answered
How much will VBO cost for my organization?
Your proposal sets out a flat-fee, per-ticket or hybrid model based on your volume, event complexity, feature requirements and operating needs. Ask for the full scope and fee breakdown, not just a single rate.
Are all VBO features included at one price?
VBO offers an integrated platform, but your proposal is the reference for the capabilities and services in your scope. Confirm your requirements and any optional services before you choose.
Are payment-processing fees the same as platform fees?
No. Review payment-processing and gateway costs separately from VBO platform pricing. An order processing fee configured for buyers is also not the same thing as the charge from a card processor.
Can we compare buyer-paid and organization-paid fees?
Yes. We can review your fee setup by sales channel and show how it affects your organization and your buyers. Compare both views alongside the total cost, rather than treating a fee passed to a buyer as a saving.
How are complimentary tickets, refunds and exchanges billed?
Fees can depend on your agreement, applicable comp allowances and the billing cycle. Your proposal should make those rules clear.
What does switching involve?
VBO’s implementation framework covers discovery, configuration, migration and validation, testing, go-live coordination, and training. Your proposal should confirm the scope, responsibilities and any applicable charges for your transition.
Will we pay less than we do today?
Our flat-fee, per-ticket and hybrid options give us several ways to improve the overall deal. We’ll compare your current costs and requirements to show where costs change and what you receive for the price.
